How to play Sequence Memory
Remember an ordered sequence, not just the positions. Watch six named and numbered pads light up one at a time, then repeat their exact order.
- Start practice, then press Watch first step when ready. Each correct round adds one step to the same sequence.
- When Your turn appears, select the pads in the exact order shown. A repeated pad counts twice and needs two separate taps or key presses.
- There is no answer timer or speed bonus. One wrong pad ends the attempt. Your result is the longest sequence fully repeated, not a count of fixed puzzles.
- Hiding, leaving or reloading during a round ends that attempt as interrupted. Fully completed lengths remain recorded when saving is available. Between rounds, you can leave and resume safely.
Controls
- Tap or click a pad during Your turn. Every separate activation counts, including consecutive taps on the same pad.
- Use Tab to reach a pad, then Enter or Space. Holding a key does not repeatedly submit it.
- Choose End attempt to stop an active round, or Try again after the result to start a fresh sequence.
Practice uses a new random sequence per attempt, bounded at 128 steps. This is a game limit, not a fixed puzzle library or an ability assessment. The dedicated local record stores your best fully completed sequence length; there is no account, global leaderboard or cross-device sync.
Progress is saved in this browser on this site when storage is available. Clearing site data can remove it. There is no cross-device sync, and internet access is needed to load the game.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Pattern Memory?
Pattern Memory asks which grid positions were lit. Sequence Memory asks for their order, including repeated pads.
Is there a daily sequence?
No. This mode is practice only. Each new attempt starts a fresh random sequence.
Can I resume an interrupted round?
Not during watch or recall: leaving, hiding or reloading ends that attempt. You can safely resume between completed rounds. The result keeps only fully completed sequence lengths.
What if browser storage is unavailable?
You can continue playing in memory. A warning explains that saving is unavailable; unreadable existing bytes are protected. Closing or reloading can lose unsaved results.
